Good Technology

May 2014 - Team Building

Good Technology awarded their top performers with with their President’s Club on the gorgeous island of Maui.  Good Technology’s top performers enjoyed a fine balance between scheduled fun, downtime, and business.

Vision set the tone with excellent customer service, providing a concierge service prior to the event for all travel related items and registration.  The high touch service was extended as attendees arrived on the island.  Vision’s dedication to high level service and extensive experience in logistics resulted in a memorable event.  Attendees enjoyed carefully planned excursions that included snorkeling, spa sessions, golf and a bike tour of the island.  Each evening a themed dinner party was planned where guests could enjoy the beach and the island, and network with their colleagues.

Rewarding their top achievers was the main goal of their President’s Club sales incentive trip but Good Technology wanted the experience to be more than just about luxury, so they asked Vision to provide a few ideas.  Vision suggested their Team Building session should not only boost morale and camaraderie, but also give back to the local community, and Good Technology immediately fell in love with the idea.

On their second day in Maui, the attendees were divided into small groups for the bike-building activity.  To start, each team was given only the frame of a girl’s bike and a boy’s bike.  In order to “earn” the tools needed for assembly, the handlebars, pedals, seats, etc., each team had to answer “Good Technology” related questions.  It was a race to see which team could assemble both bikes and ride them through an obstacle course first.  The winning team received a bag of “Maui Swag”, but the real winners were the children of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization of Maui.  The kids arrived onsite for a meet-and-greet with the Good Technology teams, and were presented with a brand new bike and helmet.  The room was filled with emotion from both the children who had never had bikes before and from the attendees who discovered that the real incentive was giving back to the youth of Maui and changing a child’s life.

The bike-building event was well received by the attendees.  In the Attendee Survey conducted after the event, almost every attendee listed the team bike-building team activity as the highlight of their three days in paradise.  Good Technology was so pleased with the positive impact it had on their employees and executives, they’ve asked Vision to start working on more team building ideas for next year’s President’s Club trip.
